Dayton, OHIO – Sophomore, junior and senior students are starting to prepare as the CJ Homecoming dance approaches. The dance is being held at CJ on Saturday, October 7th from 8 to 11 p.m.There have already been a number of dance proposals, all of which have been pretty creative.

Sophomore Dillon Wittman asked sophomore Erin Mcgraw to their first homecoming with a sign that said “Let’s twist at homecoming!” spelled out in pretzels, Erin’s favorite snack.

“I knew that she had loved pretzels so I thought why not”, says Wittman. “I couldn’t wait until the end of the day so that I could ask her and when I did she looked very happy and said yes!”

Both Erin and Dillon are very excited for the “Around the World” themed dance.

“I am so excited for my first homecoming because I get to dress up, look good, and dance the night away with my best friends. I’m so excited to see what student council has put together!” McGraw says.

There have also been some clarifications to the dress code policy. Dresses may not be cut below the bust line and backless dresses may not be cut below the navel. Also, midriffs are not to be exposed.

In addition, CJ will also be conducting breathalyzer tests for each student as they come into the dance.

This is a bittersweet moment for many of the seniors, as it is their last homecoming ever. Senior Lydia Bice shares her feelings on her last homecoming dance at CJ,

I can’t wait for homecoming this year because it’s my last one and I know that my friends and I are going to make the best of what we have left senior year,” said Bice.

Tickets are being sold before school and after school in room 100 on Friday , September 29th, Monday, October 2nd, and Tuesday, October 3rd. Tickets will also be sold during Sophomore, Junior, and Senior lunch on October 3rd. A single ticket is $11 and a couples ticket is $22, and if you’re bringing a guest, make sure to pick up a guest form in OSS before purchasing your ticket.
