Dayton, OHIO – Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School had their annual Discovery Days when the 8th graders from different schools around the area on Thursday October 5. Schools included the 8th graders from the grade schools St. Helen, St. Luke, St. Albert, St. Chris, Bishop Leibold, and Holy Angels.

There were many students in CJ who helped with this event. There were students in the Eagle Ambassador program that led small groups of the 8th graders for the day and took them from station to station.

There was the Eagle Pride pep band that performed as well as the concert choir, concert band, and the two acapella groups, Phoenix and Vega. Also, students in the different STEM classes, some from the biomedical courses as well as from the engineering courses, ran different stations to give the 8th graders a preview from that class.

They also got to play language oriented games led by our French and Spanish programs. The 8th graders also had the opportunity to play different sports and games in the Student Conditioning Center as well as the gym.

Emsley Spees, a senior at Chaminade Julienne, was a small group leader.

“I remember coming to visit CJ as an 8th grader, so I wanted to make their experience as memorable as possible” said Emsley.

“It is exciting to see the people who will eventually take our places, and so we want to make a good impression on them, so that they can continue our legacy” said Paul who is also a senior at Chaminade Julienne, is part of the improv group, The Busted Box.

This is one of CJ’s most important admissions events in the hopes of grabbing students attention. CJ holds two Discovery Days on top of shadows, Open House and parent reception.
