Dayton, OHIO – The CJ Women’s golf team has traveled to state consecutively the last nine years and this year finished in ninth place.

“State went amazing! We had looked at the scores of the other teams from districts before the competition and we were surprised to see that there were a ton of young girls on these teams shooting very low, so we knew the teams would be really good this year.” said Aryana Sutton when asked about the tournament. “We went in and played to the best of our ability, and both days we were able to shoot the best team scores we have had all season!”

The girls competed at The Ohio State Gray Course in Columbus last Friday and Saturday which was incredibly exciting for them.

“We were all very emotional at the end of the round on Saturday, and it was hard for me to grasp that it would be my last time playing for CJ. But I am glad I have had the opportunity to play on this team and I will miss it more than anything!!” Aryana replied when asked about how this tournament was different as a senior.

Four out of the five girls that traveled to state are seniors so this tournament was extra sentimental. Karah Jackson and Brooklyn Thompson said that they hope to play in college, while Aryana Sutton and Blake Wogoman are undecided.

Congratulations to the girls and good luck in your future golf endeavors!
